Can You Lose Weight with Dietrine?
So, you have heard about carb blockers as a way to lose weight, and you are wondering if Dietrine Carb Blocker will work for you.
The answer might be “yes” but more than likely it will be “NO”.
While some people may have lost a little weight by taking Dietrine, there is no real scientific evidence that it works for weight loss.
Further, there is no way to tell if any weight loss was from the Dietrine, or came as a result of paying more attention to what they were eating in conjunction with the carb blocker.
What is Dietrine?
Dietrine is an all natural dietary supplement that functions as a carb blocker.
It works to prevent the absorption of as much as 75% of the carbohydrates that you consume in your daily diet, according to their website.
Dietrine is considered by many people to be the best carb blocker for use as a diet aid.
It is made from all natural ingredients, including Phase 2 Starch Neutralizer.
Phase 2 is made from an extract from white kidney beans.
In fact, the makers of Dietrine very pointedly say that their product only uses Phase 2 as their primary ingredient.
Phase 2 is considered the best, most natural and purest carb blocker ingredient on the market.
The result is a product that prevents your favorite carbohydrate filled foods like potatoes, bread, crackers, pastas and pizza from being converted to sugars and absorbed by your body. The claim is that this results in weight loss.
How Dietrine Works?
Dietrine works by changing how your digestive process works on carbohydrates. During digestion, carbohydrates are broken down into sugars that feed your cells to create energy.
If you are sufficiently active and burn all the energy created from the carbs in your diet, then you come out even.
However, most people do not achieve this, resulting in the residual sugars staying in the cells and becoming calories that are converted to fat.
An enzyme created by the pancreas known as alpha amylase is a key component in this digestive process.
Dietrine works by inhibiting the alpha amylase, which prevents the creation of the sugars and their absorption into your body.
This leads us to question what happens to the carbohydrates that are not converted to sugar and absorbed by your body.
That question is not answered on the Dietrine website, which makes us wonder what the impact is to your system.
If the carbs are not absorbed, they have to go somewhere. Don’t they?
Does Dietrine Work for Weight Loss?
The concept is great and the marketing has been effective in capitalizing on the “carbs are bad” philosophy.
Some people have lost a bit of weight using Dietrine, but the reality is that there is little to no scientific evidence that Dietrine can help you lose weight.
What limited studies have been conducted on Dietrine have included very small groups of people.
While the Dietrine website touts their clinical studies, if you read them you will see that some included as few as seven or ten participants.
These hardly represent adequate numbers to give credibility to the study results.
Is Dietrine Safe to Use?
Unlike some diet products on the market, Dietrine does not contain any stimulants or harsh ingredients that will cause side effects. Since the primary ingredient, Phase 2, is made from white kidney beans there is little in it to hurt you.
It is an all natural product, and there is not really anything in it that can hurt you.
However, what is the point in taking it no matter how safe it is, if it doesn’t really help with weight loss?
The Bottom Line
One aspect of the advertising of Dietrine and other carb blocker products that can be misleading are the claims that “you can have your cake and eat it too”.
What they imply is that you can merrily eat all of your favorite high carbohydrate foods and expect the Dietrine to save you from yourself by blocking the carbs from being absorbed and converted to calories.
This is irresponsible, and if you really think it through you will see that to lose weight you have to eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise.
You can’t expect to take a carb blocker pill a few times a day, continue to eat foods that you know can cause weight gain, do nothing else different and still think that you will lose weight.
When you get right down to it, there are plenty of other products that would be more effective in helping you lose weight.
